Shigemi Kitamura
Commonly known as “Shigeyan,” the choreographer of Naniwa. She is active both domestically and internationally under the motto: “Resilient dance that celebrates the joys and pains of life.” While focusing primarily on solo dance performances, she has also presented numerous community dance projects involving local residents, choreographed for operas, musicals, and plays, collaborated with musicians and visual artists, and created commercials and video works across various regions. She serves as director of the “Konan Dance Company,” where people with and without disabilities dance together to create performances.
